Charles University First Faculty of Medicine Entrance Exam

Medical Doorway ended the April entrance exam season with our exclusive Charles University First Faculty of Medicine entrance exam. Charles University First Faculty is one of the oldest medical schools in the world. This history and location in the centre of Prague makes the faculty arguably the most popular medical school in Europe.

Charles University First Faculty of Medicine has one of the most active students societies in Europe

World renowned Biochemist Dr Martin Vejražka and Michaela Vargova (LF1 student office) traveled from Prague to conduct the exam. Over twenty-five students sat the exam which was once again held at Birkbeck University of London. As with other exams for Czech universities, students sat multiple choice papers in Chemistry, Biology and a choice of Mathematics or Physics. The First Faculty exam however implements a slightly different exam format. Students need to utilise analytical and problem solving skills to reach the required passing grade. Following the exam students were interviewed to explore their motivations to study in the Czech Republic. All students received their results on the day and the number of students receiving an offer was well above the average.

In addition to students from the UK, we welcomed students from Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia and Russia. Those accepted will join existing Medical Doorway students in Prague and start their studies in September 2017.

Charles University First Faculty of Medicine has one of the most active students’ societies in Europe. LF1 MedSoc arrange peer supported study groups, job fairs with NHS hospitals and numerous social events.
