Czech Republic – 2020 Pre-Departure Briefing

Despite restrictions mandated by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Medical Doorway were still able to offer our pre-departure briefing to our Czech Republic bound students. Whilst we usually host our event in London, this year our students joined us via Zoom.

During the briefing students were introduced to the universities and also provided with advice on the transition to being an international medical student. Concepts such a culture-shock and language learning were discussed. This provided an essential toolkit for the weeks, months and years ahead.

The Covid-19 pandemic required an innovative approach this year. All of our entrance exams were held online. This enabled students from much further afield to gain admission to the world ranked Czech universities. This year Medical Doorway has assisted students from various European countries the USA, Canada, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and South Africa. Over the remaining weeks of September, students will be enrolling at Charles University First, Second and Third faculties in Prague. Students will also be heading to the Charles University faculty in Hradec Kralove and Palacky University. Our largest enrolment this year is at the famous Masaryk University. Students heading to this medical school in Brno will be benefiting from a brand new €40m Clinical Simulation Centre.
