Gomel State Medical University 2021 Enrolment

The Medical Doorway team were delighted to be back at Gomel State Medical University in Belarus supporting our latest group of enrolees. This year we supported two groups of students enrolling at this hugely popular university in Belarus’s second largest city. School leavers enrolled on the six-year pathway and our graduates had the opportunity to study on a four-year programme. We supported students from the UK, Ireland, Australia, Nigeria, and South Africa in the 2021 enrolment.

Ben Ambrose supported our new GMSU students.

Students (and their parents) arrived at Minsk National Airport. There they were met and driven straight to Gomel where pre-paid hotel accommodation was waiting. From there, students were provided with their Belarusian SIM cards. The official enrolment process was followed by a guided tour of the university from the Faculty of International Students. During the visit the students were supported by our Managing Director, Ben Ambrose. Ben had the opportunity to meet Rector Professor Igor Stoma to discuss the new arrivals and the development strategies we share for current and future students. Students were also found apartments by our on the ground team in Gomel.

Graduates from GSMU meet the requirements to apply for registration with the GMC and for ECMFG Certification. All the tuition fees received by the university are reinvested into the university. This sets GSMU apart from private programmes in some neighbouring counties. This has resulted in over one-thousand international students choosing Gomel for their medical studies.
