International Outreach in Cairo

Medical Doorway’s brought an end to 2019 with a special international outreach campaign in Cairo, Egypt. Following our involvement at the CIS global forum in Bilbao we were invited to speak in three international schools across the Egyptian capital. Joining us on this trip was Valia Tsiakala  from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus. Cyprus is a short one hour twenty minute flight from Cairo and is an attractive option for students who want access to a world-class facility.

Medical Doorway and The University of Nicosia delivered outreach presentations in Cairo

The first school visit was to the impressive Hayah International Academy in New Cairo. We had the chance to meet the higher education counselling team and also some of their elite students who dream of a career in Medicine. Following this, we made the short journey to New Cairo British International School. Over fifty students signed up to attend this presentation from across the affluent New Cairo area.

The following day the team had the chance for some downtime and to take in the main sights of Cairo. We followed this rare opportunity with a visit to the British International School of Cairo. Here, we gave a presentation to a packed room of students and higher education counsellors from schools across West Cairo.

Despite only having a narrow window to visit Cairo we were delighted to connect with so many students. Students who attended the seminars are now already applying to our partner universities. In 2020 we look forward to be supporting their enrolment and then watching them became the doctors of tomorrow.
