Palacky University in Olomouc: 2019 Enrolment

Following our recent enrolments at Poznan University of Medical Sciences and Ostrava University we continued our 2019 enrolment activity at Palacky University in Olomouc. This year we have run examinations in London, Manchester, Madrid and Hong Kong. This has led to a large and diverse enrolment. In fact, sixty per-cent of the 2019 Dentistry enrolment are Medical Doorway students.

Palacky University students attended our London pre-departure briefing where they had he chance to meet existing students before they departed for The Czech Republic. Students all received a warm welcome to Olomouc by Medical Doorway director Ben Ambrose. After they moved into their accommodation they picked up their Czech SIM cards and headed to the medical faculty. Following a short introduction by registrar Jana Osmani, our students quickly completed the essential enrolment process. Students received their student books, schedules and all the details of a packed freshers’ week. They were then taken to the DPMO office to buy their student travel cards. These cards give students three months unlimited use of the Olomouc’s public transport system for only £17!

Opening a bank account is an essential part of settling into a new country. Ben Ambrose arranged appointments on 10th September at Ceska Sporitelna for all students to get this done without delay.

Medical Doorway and Palacky University

Palacky University and Medical Doorway have a long and established partnership with graduates of both medicine and dentistry working in the UK. Ben Ambrose held a meeting with new vice-dean Professor Milan Raska to discuss the student experience at Palacky University and plan for the future. As the main UK representative of Palacky University we are already receiving applications for the 2020 enrolment. Our plans for 2020 are already underway with entrance exams taking place in London, Manchester, Hong Kong and Sao Paolo.
