Medical Doorway are delighted to announce that The University of Rijeka in Croatia has joined our network. The University of Rijeka is our first university partner from Croatia and brings another unique option for aspiring medical students.

Situated in the North West of Croatia, Rijeka is home to the largest sea-port in the country. Serviced by its own airport, it is within easy reach of the capital Zagreb and the border with Slovenia. Students can also catch a ferry from nearby Pula to the beautiful Italian city of Venice.

The University offers an innovative medical programme for a very competitive tuition fee of €9000 per year. To make the fee more cash flow friendly it can be paid in three instalments of €3000.

What makes the University of Rijeka stand out is the multiple routes to enrolment. Every July Medical Doorway will be hosting an entrance exam in London. This is a multiple-choice paper consisting of Biology, Chemistry and Physics questions. This is not the only path applicants can follow however. If you have taken the BMAT in the same academic year you can be exempted from the entrance exam. Applicants choosing this route will need to have scored at least a four in each component. Applicants who hold a first- or second-class degree in a related subject – for example, Biomedical Science or Biochemistry – can also apply and gain admission with exemption from the entrance examination.

We are delighted that the University of Rijeka has joined Medical Doorway offering students another destination for their medical studies. Applications for September 2020 admission will be open from November 2019.
