Our 2019 Charles University enrolments got off to a great start at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove. Following examinations in London and Hong Kong, we were delighted to be supporting students from across the globe at this leading medical school. On Tuesday 17th September, Medical Doorway met the students at the faculty and ensured that all successfully enrolled.
As in previous years, Charles University in Hradec Kralove was the only Charles University faculty to offer a clearing period examination. This meant students were able to apply after receiving their A-level results.
The enrolment preceded a busy orientation week arranged by the students’ office and the medical students’ society. A warm welcome was first offered by vice-dean Professor Emil Rudolf. The enrolment was then led by Tereza Chvapilová.
The Hradec Kralove students’ society introduced their social and academic support roles. The society has arranged a range of social activities to welcome the new intake. All the medicine and dentistry students were allocated to study groups in preparation for the start of their studies. Following the packed morning, Ben Ambrose supported the students in their transition to Hradec Kralove. Students purchased their Czech SIM cards and were able to open their bank accounts at Ceska Sporitelna. Ben Ambrose then took the students (and their visiting parents) to the town’s info point to apply for their student travel cards. This ensured all the Medical Doorway students were ready for their lives as international students in this beautiful Bohemian town.
In 2020, Medical Doorway and Charles University in Hradec Kralove are expanding their reach. Sao Paolo is going to be next exciting location for an examination in addition to our established exams in the UK and Hong Kong.
