University of Rijeka

The Faculty of Medicine has educated healthcare professionals since 1955. Across seven decades it has developed a reputation as an innovative centre for medical education in Croatia.

The Medicine programme combines academic and clinical learning in one of Croatia’s innovative medical faculties. Graduates from Rijeka are eligible to apply for full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK, subject to the registration requirements in force when they qualify.

Rijeka is a compact university city of just over 120,000 people on Croatia’s north-west coast, served by its own airport and the country’s largest seaport. Pula and onward ferry connections to Venice are also within reach, while relatively low local living costs help make the programme accessible.

Rijeka has several admission routes. Many school-leaver applicants take the entrance examination, while applicants with a qualifying graduate background may be admitted without it.
