University of Debrecen

The University of Debrecen offers Medicine, Dentistry and a pre-medical foundation route at one of Europe’s larger health faculties. Medical Doorway is an official representative and supports international applicants to this historic Hungarian university.

Debrecen’s educational roots extend back to the sixteenth century. Today the university combines that long tradition with modern facilities and a large medical faculty serving students from many countries.

Students can enter Medicine or Dentistry directly, or use the pre-medical foundation programme when further preparation is needed. Eligible graduates can apply to the General Medical Council (GMC) or General Dental Council (GDC), as appropriate. The university also supports USMLE preparation for students considering careers in the USA or Canada.

Debrecen is Hungary’s second-largest city and has its own airport, including services from London. A direct rail connection also links the city with Budapest, making travel to the capital straightforward.

Medical Doorway organises dedicated entrance examinations and guides candidates through the Hungary application process. Applicants receive support with preparation, submission and the steps leading towards enrolment.
