In 2022, Medical Doorway became a founding GEMS for Life partner. This means we can directly support students in their over forty schools in the UAE and Qatar. This partnership led to a tour of schools across the UAE and developing links with other stakeholders in the region. To further develop this partnership, we held a constructive meeting at GEMS headquarters in Dubai. During this meeting we were joined by the Vice-Dean of Charles University First Faculty of Medicine, Professor Eitan Brizman and Professor Tereza Tomankova. During this meeting we discussed the increasing number of GEMS students applying to Charles University and other Medical Doorway partners.

GEMS approached Medical Doorway as they wanted a reliable and ethical provider to support their aspiring doctors and dentists. By bringing partner universities into GEMS schools, students and parents can get honest and unfiltered advice direct from decision makers. This partnership also means that Medical Doorway exams and interviews will be taking place in GEMS schools rather than commercial venues.
By working together, both GEMS and Medical Doorway are developing a strategy that will assist hundreds of students prepare for application, selection, and enrolment at medical school. By offering online and in-person group support and bespoke counselling, more and more GEMS students are going to experience the Medical Doorway difference. Plans are now also underway for our first “Get in Medicine” conference. This will be a first for the UAE, bringing schools, students, parents and universities together.
