Medical Doorway were specially invited to present at Eton College on Friday 8th June. The presentation took place in the exclusive Jafar Gallery. Over one hundred higher education and career counsellors from some of the UK’s most respected schools were in attendance. Eton college has been educating world leaders since the 1400s and is one of the world’s most respected schools.
Ben Ambrose introduced a number of high ranked European medical schools to a packed audience at Eton College.
Our colleagues at The Medic Portal led the careers advisers’ briefing. School and college counsellors heard updates from Medical Doorway’s partner universities, including information relevant to students we had already supported. The talk explained our application process and university-funded support.
During the presentation, Ben Ambrose introduced a range of universities. All our university partners are in the world rankings and/or have a track record of graduate employment. These included Charles University First Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University and Queen Mary University of London. The opportunities and challenges were highlighted as well as the changing medical licensing regulations being introduced by the GMC.
Following the presentation the advisers were invited to take part in the Medical Doorway Career Counsellor Tour of The Czech Republic in November. For advisers not able to make the tour they were invited to MD-Expo 2018 at The Royal Society of Medicine on Sunday November 4th.
