Gomel State Medical University

Since 1990, Gomel State Medical University has been educating generations of leading medical professionals. It is therefore the youngest – and most innovative – medical faculty in the Republic of Belarus. As a result, over eight-hundred international students currently call Gomel home.

There is a consistent commitment to internationalisation at Gomel State Medical University. Due to this, the faculty has established academic links with universities in Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom. A four-year pathway for graduates is available

With the increasing costs of education studying medicine at Gomel offers an affordable route to a career as a doctor. Tuition fees are only $4500 est. per year (est. £3200), payable in two instalments. University accommodation is available from only $600 (est. £480) a year. As a result, the overall cost of living in Belarus is arguably one of the lowest in Europe. Students graduating from GSMU are eligible to apply for registration in the USA after taking the USMLE or the UK after sitting the Medical Licensing Assessment; just like graduates from UK medical schools.

GSMU offers a four-year medicine programme for graduates of biomedical and health related degrees. The first year of this degree is $6000/£4400 and then $4500/£3200 est. per year for years 2-4.
