What is graduate entry medicine?
Graduate entry medicine is designed for applicants who already hold a degree and want to train as a doctor. Some programmes can be completed in four years, although course length, entry criteria and the qualifications accepted vary between universities.
A degree in biomedical science or another related subject may meet the academic criteria for some programmes, but it does not confer automatic eligibility. Universities may also consider degree classification, school qualifications, admissions tests, relevant experience and performance at interview.
Choosing the right programme
Applicants should compare more than course length. Consider the curriculum, clinical experience, admissions process, total cost, location and the professional registration route associated with the final qualification. This is particularly important when the degree is awarded outside the country in which you intend to work.

Professional registration after graduation
Registration is a separate process from admission to medical school.
