Every year, Medical Doorway helps students secure medical school scholarships to study medicine in the UK or Europe.
Here, we outline the main types of scholarships available and how you can apply for them.

Please note: there are no full (100%) tuition fee scholarships. However, there are many ways to reduce your tuition fees to more affordable levels.

Exam Fee Scholarships

Every year, hundreds of applicants sit Medical Doorway exams online or in person across the world. While our service is always free, exam sessions may include a small fee depending on the university and venue.

In 2026, we are launching new exam fee scholarships to help students applying for 2026 enrolment. These are exclusive to attendees of our Get Into Medicine events in Dubai and London.

Available Scholarships:

1. Twenty full HUMAT exam fee scholarships for Humanitas University — ten awarded in Dubai (8th November) and ten in London (29th November).

2. Ten Czech or Slovak exam fee scholarships — five per event in Dubai and London.

If you have booked a place at one of these events and have your ticket scanned on entry, you’ll automatically be entered into the draw.
Already paid your exam fee? Don’t worry. If your name is drawn, your exam fee will be refunded in full.

Merit-Based

Universities seek outstanding students, and many reward excellence through merit-based scholarships. For example, Humanitas University offers generous tuition fee scholarships to top performers on the HUMAT exam.

In 2025, one Medical Doorway applicant earned an incredible €108,000 award. By ranking in the top ten of the HUMAT and excelling in the interview, his annual tuition fee dropped from €23,000 to just €5,000 per year.

Financial Status

If you’ve secured a university place but are concerned about tuition fees, financial status scholarships can help. Many universities assess your financial background and award partial scholarships accordingly.

For example, at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, applicants can receive 5–20% tuition fee scholarships based on financial need. Fees can also be paid in eight instalments, making it an affordable option. Every year, Medical Doorway helps students secure the maximum 20%, allowing them to pursue their dream of studying medicine.

Tuition Fee Discounts

Some universities offer tuition fee discounts to attract top students or promote new programmes.
These can make a real difference in the total cost of your medical degree.

For 2026, the University of Hertfordshire is offering a £2,000 tuition fee discount for successful applicants to its MBBS programme. The usual fee is £42,000, making this an excellent offer for international students aiming for a British medical degree.

     There are no 100% scholarships. Most are merit based and are partial.
