On Sunday 3rd November 2019 we continued our tradition of hosting our annual open day (we call it MD-Expo) at the Royal Society of Medicine. This is the fourth year we have conducted our open day at this prestigious venue. The 2019 open day was by far our largest to date, with eleven universities from eight countries in attendance. A record number of aspiring doctors and dentists visited, learning more about studying medicine or dentistry in Europe.
From the Mediterranean we welcomed the University of Nicosia and Queen Mary University of London (MBBS Malta). Our Czech Republic partners were very busy all day with Charles University Second, Third and Hradec Kralove faculties exhibiting. These three faculties and a current First Faculty student took part in our Charles University forum. From the south of Czech Republic both Masaryk University and Palacky University were represented at the RSM.
Many students who attended were specifically looking for graduate entry options. In addition to the programme in Nicosia, Poznan University of Medical Sciences offers just such a programme. While not offering a graduate entry route, the University of Rijeka in Croatia provides graduates an exemption from their entrance examination.
There was a packed seminar schedule with presentations from Ben Ambrose (CEO of Medical Doorway), current students, graduates and some of our partner universities.
The feedback received from students and our partner universities has been spectacular. Students were making applications on the day for many of the programmes we collaborate with.
Now the focus is on helping the over six-hundred guests registered on our open day. As always, Medical Doorway will be there for all our new applicants offering our free of charge support.
Next year’s MD-Expo Open Day is already booked, taking place at the RSM on Sunday 8th November 2020.
