The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice has been educating world-class Veterinarians since 1949. Situated on a self-contained campus in Slovakia’s second largest city, it provides one of the best value veterinary medicine programmes in the European Union. As an EAEVE approved programme, graduating from Kosice enables registration with the RCVS in the UK without the need to take the RCVS Statutory Examination for Membership.
The six-year veterinary medicine programme is separated into theoretical (preclinical) disciplines, followed by the clinical phase. During the pre-clinical phase, students will focus on the theory underpinning medical and veterinary medical practice. This will include anatomy, histology, nutrition and dietetics, physiology, and pathological physiology. The clinical phase of the programme will include placements in private veterinary clinics, small and large animal hospitals, farms and even experience at the local zoo.
