Study Medicine in Europe presentation: Stratford Girls’ Grammar School

The commitment of the Medical Doorway team to provide in-school “Study Medicine in Europe” presentations is unparalleled. Already in 2024, we have visited schools in the UK and Europe and the requests keep on coming. On Friday 23rd February we met the “MedSoc” at Stratford Girls’ Grammar School. Stratford is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. This selective grammar school is consistently ranked in the UK’s top twenty state schools for GCSE and A-level results.

During the outreach visit, we delivered our “Study Medicine in Europe” presentation to a packed room of aspiring medical students and their teachers. Students were introduced to medical schools in Italy, Cyprus, Malta, and Czech Republic amongst others. The floor was then open for questions. All students were invited to our Open Day at the Royal Society of Medicine on 30th November 2024.

There are ongoing issues caused by fee-charging recruitment agencies promoting universities of questionable reputation. Schools are therefore coming to Medical Doorway to ensure students don’t get misled and end up out of pocket with few career prospects. More school visits across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia are planned in the coming weeks.
