This end of September brought to a close our enrolment activity in Czech Republic. The Medical Doorway team were at the world famous Charles University in Hradec Kralove. This was our first year of working with Charles University in Hradec Kralove. The interest in the faculty took us by surprise as we are delighted to have assisted a large group of students start their Medicine and Dentistry careers.
Charles University in Hradec Kraove was the only Czech university to offer a clearing period examination in the UK. This meant students were able to apply after receiving their examination results. The Faculty is part of Charles University, so enjoys the same prestigious ranking as all other faculties of Charles University. Charles University is the highest ranked of the central european universities teaching medicine and dentistry in English.
The enrolment happened at the end of an orientation week arranged by the medical students’ society. Zuzana Ticha led the enrolment; students received their student books and study schedules. Following this, the student society arranged a talk for all parents who came along to support the students.
The night before the enrolment all Medical Doorway students and parents were treated to a welcome meal at The Royal Maharaja. The restaurant is very popular with students and was a great icebreaker for all the students.
