Medical Doorway kicked off the 2017 entrance exam season with Masaryk University on Saturday 1st April. The entrance examination was the largest April exam to date with thirty-five registrations. Held at Birkbeck University of London, students sat a three hour multiple-choice science based paper. Students sat papers in Chemistry, Biology and a choice of Maths or Physics.
The April exam is especially popular with gap-year students, graduates and those requiring a visa to study in the Czech Republic. In addition to the British candidates, students traveled to London from Germany, Ireland, Tanzania and Texas (USA).
Ben Ambrose supported Marketa Neckarova in invigilating the examination. Masaryk university is especially popular due to its world-class facilities, high academic ranking and graduate employment successes. The University is based in the Czech city of Brno which offers the benefits of living in a major city without the added cost associated with a capital. Brno is also serviced by direct flights from London making it an obvious choice for many students. In addition, Masaryk University has been pro-active in supporting students through to employment. The direct link between St. Helens & Knowsley NHS trust gives Masaryk University graduates an opportunity open to very few who choose to study medicine or dentistry in Europe.
