Czech Republic Pre-Departure Briefing 2018

On Wednesday 5th September the Medical Doorway team were back at Birkbeck University of London. This time our visit was for the 2018 Czech Republic pre-departure briefing. It was an extremely busy year with twenty-two separate entrance exams ran by Medical Doorway. Students and parents attended in large numbers to get ready for the enrolment at our seven Czech university partners. Students heading to Charles University First Faculty, Charles University Second Faculty, Masaryk University, UVPS, Palacky University, Charles University in Hradec Kralove and Ostrava University had the opportunity to attend this FREE of charge event.

The day started with presentations from Ben Ambrose about the universities and also the process of becoming an international student. Ben continued by informing students of strategies to cope with the academic and culture shock commonly experienced. Ben also offered advice on how to make a successful start to learning Czech.

Markéta Pokorná  (Project Manager) Lucie Pátková (PR Manager) of Foreigners.cz flew to the UK to meet students and parents. They introduced students to the Czech Republic, even giving some early pointers in the Czech language.

Medical Doorway students Shayan (Palacky University) and Diksha (Charles University in Hradec Kralove) advised students on how to be successful when studying in The Czech Republic. In between the presentations students and parents were able to network with each other.
