High-School Counsellor Networking Breakfast in Dubai

The 3rd November is flag day in the UAE. This year, it was also the date of our inaugural Dubai networking breakfast for school-based higher education counsellors. There is a noticeable lack of high-quality and ethical advisory services for aspiring doctors and dentists in the UAE. As such, hundreds of schools have approached Medical Doorway to fill this void and deliver the service students deserve. This all started when we were appointed as a GEMS for Life partner in 2022. Our work in the UAE has grown significantly over the past twelve months. Held at the Atana Hotel in Dubai, this was the first ever dedicated networking event bringing medical schools from across the world together with school-based counsellors.

Delivering for schools and students.

The event kicked off with a welcome from Medical Doorway’s Managing Director, Ben Ambrose. In this, he laid out the developments Medical Doorway are making for the 2024 admissions cycle. This includes increasing our in-person school visits across the country, and supporting this with bespoke on-line information session. In addition, we are launching a new series of entrance exams in Dubai and online. This is all on top of our unrivalled entrance exam preparation, and of course, our in-country support when students are arriving at their chosen medical school.

Over fifty school counsellors registered and enjoyed a delicious breakfast provided by Medical Doorway. The time was then spent with the twelve medical schools. For the first time, in Dubai, counsellors were able to meet an eclectic mix of universities in one venue. Given the diversity of options they took the opportunity to explore the differences and admissions procedures.

Medical Doorway are providing students across the UAE and Middle East real choice and a service that schools and parents are able to trust. As we expand our work in the region we are looking forward to delivering an increasing number of events for schools.
