Charles University in Hradec Kralove: 2018 Enrolment

Pavla Sedlarova led the enrolment at Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove.

The Medical Doorway team were once again at the world famous Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove. Following a series of entrance exams in London and Hong Kong we supported another large group of students.

Charles University in Hradec Kralove was the only Charles University faculty to offer a clearing period examination. This meant students were able to apply after receiving their A-level results. Charles University is the highest ranked of the Central European universities teaching medicine and dentistry in English.

The enrolment preceded a packed orientation week arranged by the medical students’ society. Pavla Sedlarova led the enrolment; students received their student books and study schedules. Following this, the student society arranged a talk for all parents who came along to support the students.

Medical Doorway students applied for their Hradec Kralove travel permits.

Following the enrolment, Ben Ambrose supported the students in their transition to Hradec Kralove. Students purchased their Czech SIM cards and applied for their travel permits. Medical Doorway arranged exclusive appointments at the local branch of Ceska Sporitelna for students to open their bank accounts. This ensured all the Medical Doorway students were ready for their lives as international students in this beautiful Bohemian town.

A full freshers fortnight was planned which included a range of social activities. The two weeks gave all students the chance to get to know their future colleagues and practice their Czech language skills. Students were allocated to their study groups and are all set to commence their lessons on Monday 1st October.
