Following a busy month of entrance examinations, we were back at the chalk-face offering advice and guidance to students. This time we were in the home of the European parliament at the International School of Brussels. Since our involvement at the Council of International Schools Global Forum in 2018, we are being invited into more schools than ever before. The International School of Brussels is one of the world’s top international schools with over 1500 students from sixty-five countries. This is largely due to the huge number of diplomats and ambassadors in the Belgian capital. The exhibition itself was also open to the large network of international schools in the city.
Ben Ambrose represented Medical Doorway at ISB and spoke to a large number of students and parents. The American students were very excited to learn that Masaryk University and Charles University First Faculty of Medicine are both on the US Federal Funding list. This means they can study for their six-year medical degree on a low-cost US government loan. There were a huge number of students from Asia and they were excited to learn about our Hong Kong entrance exams, held at the end of May. These students generally return home after competing their IB exams. This means they can take the medical entrance exams closer to home, spending more vacation time with their family and friends.
The education exhibition at ISB, held on 7th May 2019, is one of the largest school events in Europe. The school’s commitment to quality and transparency means it is only open to universities and specially invited organisations. The school, and all international schools, have a strict no-agent policy. This ensures all the students in attendance receive the best advice and guidance to suit their individual needs.
Medical Doorway is committed to protecting students from the problems caused by student recruitment agencies. Integral to this is our ongoing outreach strategy. In the coming weeks we will be visiting schools in Manchester, Shrewsbury and Hong Kong. If you are a school or college and want us to visit, get in touch at [email protected] and we will walk, drive or fly to you.
