Ben Ambrose (Managing Director) of Medical Doorway was again invited to present at the Royal Society of Medicine. After a successful presentation to students and parents in February, this presentation was to school career counsellors from across the United Kingdom.
Ben delivered an updated “Study Medicine in Europe” presentation to the eager audience. The presentation covered the rationale for studying aboard, including the opportunities and challenges faced by students. With the implications of BREXIT and the tightening of UK medical regulations the audience was advised that students need to be highly selective of the universities they are choosing. This is all the more important given the proliferation of unregulated fee-charging agents. The presentation gave advisors the chance to hear the truth about studying medicine in Europe so students are not left short-changed and misled.
A select group of universities were chosen to articulate the differences in application and enrolment procedures. The audience were given strategies to ensuring a “fit” between students and university. Ben gave the advisors a special invitation to join our bespoke Career Advisor Tour of The Czech Republic as well as request a personal school visit from the Medical Doorway team.
Following the presentation, a question and answer panel was held. This gave the advisors the chance to ask specific questions unique to their schools and students.
Medical Doorway have built up a positive collaboration with the Royal Society of Medicine over a number of years. We will be again holding our annual open day on Sunday November 4th at the RSM.
