For the second year running Ben Ambrose (Managing Director) presented at the Council of International Schools Global Forum of International Admission and Guidance. In 2018 we presented at the conference in Vienna with the 2019 event being held in Bilbao.
Delegates from gave such positive feedback from our 2018 presentation that we were invited to present once again. The presentation explored the full landscape of English taught European medical programmes. This took hundreds of career advisors through a student life-cycle from application, enrolment, education and graduation. Video interviews with our current students and gradates brought the presentation to life. This made delegates aware of the real opportunities and challenges facing aspiring medical, dental and veterinary students.
During the two-day conference we expanded our connections with the world’s best international schools. Another two-hundred career advisors got the opportunity to meet Ben and learn more about the work of Medical Doorway. Schools across Asia and Latin America were excited to hear about our 2020 examinations in Hong Kong and Brazil. Chronic doctor shortages in these regions are motiving an increasing number of students two pursue medical studies in Europe.
As in 2018 we co-presented with colleagues from international schools. This year we were joined up with Leysin American School in Switzerland and the American School of Dubai. A question and answer session followed the presentation.
At the end of the two day conference everyone was excited to discover the venue for the 2020 forum. The forum will be heading to Dublin in Ireland on 19th and 20th November 2020. Our plans for 2020 are already in place and we hope to have the opportunity to connect with more schools from across the world over the next twelve months.
