Medical University Pleven: February 2020 Enrolment

Since 2011, Medical Doorway have been the exclusive official UK representative of Medical University Pleven. This means we are the only organisation able to provide a service free of agency fees. With this in mind, we were back in Pleven for the February 2020 enrolment at this highly respected Bulgarian medical school.

This year we were supporting students from the UK, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Canada, Russia, Pakistan and a host of other nations in joining over six-hundred existing Medical Doorway students in Pleven.

Ben Ambrose (Managing Director) started the transition process at Sofia airport meeting many students as they arrived. The pre-arranged airport pick-up ferried everyone to Pleven. Students and guests then settled down into Hotel Rostov at our discounted rate. Students then moved into their booked accommodation. Enrolment activities started on Monday 3rd February with an introduction from the International Student Centre team. Sandip Gurung (President of AIMS), welcomed the new students and introduced them to the student society and the broad activities of this organisation. Sandip and over sixty Medical Doorway students will be graduating in April and Medical Doorway will be in Pleven to celebrate this achievement with them. We were there for our graduates in 2018 and 2019.

After the enrolment,  students had tours of the university and finalised their enrolment at the ISC office. This was followed up by the annual welcome party hosted by Medical Doorway. All out students and their guests got the opportunity to taste traditional Bulgarian food and learn some Bulgarian dancing.
